The Department of Housing Preservation and Development submitted an application for the Urban Development Action Area designation and project approval for the area located at 1382, 1388, 1392 and 1414 Shakespeare Avenue to facilitate the development of a building tentatively knwon as Shakespeare Place.

This will facilitate the preservation of the Wyckoff Bennett House, which is a rare example of early colonial Dutch architecture and one of the earliest settlements of Brooklyn.
Damroc Realty Corp. and KDP Realty LLC submitted an application for an amendment to the Zoning Map, which would change districts to facilitate the development of a seven story building. The building will be located at 35th Street, between 34th and 35th avenues, in Astoria, Queens and it will have residential, commercial and retail uses.
Columbia University submitted an application for an amendment of the Zoning Map, which would facilitate the development of a modern academic mixed-use campus in the Manhattanville section of West Harlem, Manhattan. The application, N 070496 ZRM, is being considered concurrently with this application.
Community Board 9 of Manhattan submitted a plan for consideration by the City Planning Commission. The plan will affect Manhattan's Community District 9, bounded by West 110th Street, the Hudson River, West 155th Street and Jackie Robinson, St. Nicholas, and Morningside parks. The goal of the plan is to build a strong social, economic and cultural base in the area, while establishing appropriate infrastructure and conditions for its residents.
