Audit Report on the Effectiveness of the Department of Parks and Recreation's Parks Inspection Program: Manhattan Playgrounds Report (7R12-098A)
From an audit conducted on the New York City Parks and Recreation Department (DPR), it was found that the officials of the Operations and Management Division (OMP), part of the Parks Inspection Programs (PIP), adequately inspected the Manhattan playgrounds. However, the Manhattan Chief of Operations failed to report conditions of the park in a timely manner and there was a lack of enforcement of rules and policies. Recommendations have been made to rectify the issue.
