The Civilian Complaint Review Board is an independent agency, who is empowered to receive, investigate, mediate, hear, make findings and recommend actions upon complaints against New York City police officers alleging the use of unnecessary force, abuse of authority, or the use of offensive language. Within 180 days of receiving access to NYS DMV motor vehicle traffic crash data involving pedestrian injuries or fatalities for the previous calendar year, DOT identifies in this report the 20 highest crash locations, inspects, and proposes improvements where warranted.
