The NYC Mayor's Office of Workforce Development (WKDEV) and the New York Association for Training and Employment Professionals, in partnership with the City University of New York, hosted a one day Career Pathways Learning lab. The event, sponsored by JP Morgan Chase & Co., engaged 240 local, state, and national partners and experts in sharing and learning about best practices in career pathways implementation. This brief highlights reflections on the career pathways concept, the current state of the City's ability to implement this strategy, and proposed next steps for building a robust network of career pathway programs.

In December of 2014, the de Blasio administration released the action plan developed by the Mayor's Task Force on Behavioral Health and the Criminal Justice System. The action plan outlines a comprehensive blueprint to continue to drive down crime while also reducing the number of people with behavioral health issues who cycle through the criminal justice system. This report outlines the initial recommendations of the task force.
Safety with Dignity details policy recommendations made by the Mayor's Leadership Team on School Climate and Discipline (Leadership Team).The Leadership Team is a one-year task force that was launched by Mayor Bill de Blasio in February 2015 with the mission of developing recommendations to enhance the well-being and safety of students and staff in the City's public schools, while minimizing the use of suspensions, arrests and summonses.

This report contains a compilation of all workers' compensation claims indexed by the New York City Lalw Department during 2014. The report includes a breakdown of the expenses paid, a list of specific claims for each agency, as wall as specific types and locations of injuries and year-to-year comparisons of the information compiled from 2005 through 2014.
With offices in all five boroughs and Kingston, New York, the New York City Law Department handles over 70,000 active or ongoing legal matters each year. In addition to litigating cases, attorneys draft and review local and State legislation; approve leases, contracts, and financial instruments for the sale of municipal bonds; negotiate and structure business transactions; and provide legal counsel to City officials on a wide range of issues, such as immigration, education, judicial election reform and environmental policy. The Annual Report lists some major issues and matters handled by the Law Department in 2014.
The NYC Center for Economic Opportunity's annual report on poverty, The CEO Poverty Measure, 2005 - 2013 is now available. As the economy continued to emerge from recession in 2013, citywide poverty remained statistically unchanged from the previous year.
This report describes the results of a qualitative evaluation of Teen ACTION's effectiveness in meeting its goals. The research team interviewed teens, program administrators, and staff at seven sites (see box), and conducted focus groups with participants, as well as one-on-one interviews with four teens at each site.
The Annual Report contains an introduction to OIG-NYPD, an overview of OIG-NYPD'S inaugural year, a summary of OIG-NYPD's efforts and accomplishments, and other useful information about the Office. This inaugural Report primarily covers the opening of the Office in May 2014 through March 2015.
