This annual report has been prepared pursuant to Local Law 196 of 2017 (“Local Law 196”), which was passed by the New York City Council on September 27, 2017 and signed by the Mayor on October 16, 2017. For safety training for workers and that supervisors at certain job sites.
During the reporting period of January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 DOB took steps to implement Local Law 115 of 2019, but did not conduct any preliminary inspections. In order to begin conducting preliminary inspections, DOB’s application for construction document approval needed to be updated.

Pursuant Local Law 161 of 2017, 1st quarter 2020, the Office of the Tenant Advocate (OTA) received 582 inquiries, 82 of which were referred to the Office of the Building Marshal (“OBM”) at the Department of Buildings, 38 to other DOB Enforcement Units and 121 to other city and state agencies.
