These reports contain information on the number of accidents at construction sites, which are incidents where there has been an injury or fatality, occurring on a construction site (with or without a work permit) or caused by construction activity on an adjoining site.
The report describes that in 2020, the Department received 80 complaints. Upon inspection, the Department determined that no enforcement action was necessary with respect to 52 complaints. The Department issued 28 violations where it determined that enforcement action was necessary.
During the reporting period of January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 DOB took steps to implement Local Law 115 of 2019, but did not conduct any preliminary inspections. In order to begin conducting preliminary inspections, DOB’s application for construction document approval needed to be updated.
