This report presents a review of current data related to school safety in New York City, and from that data draws a series of holistic recommendations on how to make City schools healthier and more secure.

Suicide rates in NYC remained stable, overall, from 2010 to 2019; individuals 45 to 64 years of age had the highest rate of suicide in the city; White NYers had the highest suicide rate; the greatest increase was among Black female NYers.
Report provides an analysis of the impact of the Intimate Partner Violence 101
(IPV 101) trainings provided to Department of Homeless Services (DHS) employees, who, as
demonstrated through pre- and post-training surveys, improved their knowledge of Intimate Partner
Violence (IPV), trauma.
The report provides an update on the implementation of the 32 initiatives announced by the NYC Domestic Violence Task Force in May 2017. The goal of the initiatives was to reduce violence, enhance the safety and well-being of domestic violence survivors, and hold abusive partners accountable.
The analysis in this brief utilized New York City Police Department data from calendar years 2017 to 2019 for domestic violence offenses: homicide, felony rape, felony assault, sex offenses, strangulation and stalking. For each offense, the NYPD provided sex and race/ethnic for each offense.
