SBS, with support from Citi Community Development, commissioned a study to understand the state and needs of women entrepreneurs in New York City. The study was conducted in collaboration with global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney.
This report presents findings from an analysis of primary program data collected by WE NYC, which includes self-reported data from more than 14,000 program participants and covered the period from January 2016 through June 2020.
This paper intends to document the details of this program’s development and learnings from the first year, so that economic development practitioners across the country might implement similar models, in food services or other industries, to empower low-income entrepreneurs in their
communities.
The Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15) Trends Report contains data reported to the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) in each Business Improvement District’s (BID) FY15 Annual Report. Data was self-reported by each BID and should be treated as a guide.
