DSNY has announced that registration is now open for those interested in working as Emergency Snow Laborers for the 2022-2023 winter season. Emergency Snow Laborers are per-diem workers who remove snow and ice from bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants and step streets after heavy snowfalls.

In advance of the holidays on October 10, DSNY has announced additional service and a change in guidance for service on that day. This is a continuation of our pilot “on-holiday pick-up” program representing an additional service as collection normally does not take place on the holiday.
