This is the annual report pursuant to Local Law 21 on efforts to address erroneous criminal & juvenile records submitted by the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice.
This report, submitted by the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) to the City Council in compliance with Local Law 192 of 2019, serves as the ninth biannual report on closing jails on Rikers Island and opening jail facilities outside Rikers Island.
Report regarding the collection, retention, and disclosure of identifying information by such agency and any contractors or subcontractors utilized by such agency
Reports on aspects of the criminal justice system, including (among other information) the average daily population of inmates in the custody of the Department of Correction.
The Identifying Information Law requires City agencies to submit comprehensive biennial agency reports
related to their collection, retention, and disclosure of identifying information and their privacy
protection practices.
Numbers are generated by the Department of Correction and New York Police Department and are reported to, and compiled by, the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice. Charts 1, 3, 14, and 15 are reported on a quarterly basis, and charts 2, 4-13, and 16 are reported semi-annually.
