The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that in observance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, there will be no trash, composting or recycling collection on Monday, January 16, 2023.
DSNY has announced that curbside Christmas tree collection will begin Friday, Jan 6, 2023. Collection will run through Saturday, Jan 14, 2023, barring any delays that may be caused by winter weather events. As a reminder, Christmas trees are collected separately from trash and recycling.

DSNY today announced the final publication of new rules to limit the number of hours trash, recycling, and organics will sit on New York City sidewalks by adjusting the time of day those materials may be placed on the curb.
What are we proposing? DSNY is proposing to amend its rules relating to the use of certain receptacles for food-related businesses.
When and where is the hearing? DSNY will hold a public hearing on the proposed rule. The public hearing will take place via Webex at 10:00AM on June 22, 2023.
