Quinn, State and City elected officials, environmentalists, environmental justice advocates and labor leaders call on the State Assembly to pass legislation that authorizes the construction and operation of a marine transfer station at Pier 52 on the Gansevoort Peninsula in Manhattan. This station will handle the recyclable metal, glass, plastic and paper that is generated in Manhattan, ensuring that the borough has the capacity to handle its own waste and recyclables.
