Welcome to the Government Publications Portal—the GPP. The New York City Department of Records and Information Services (DORIS) established the portal to serve as a permanent, searchable online repository of City government publications. The City Charter, Section 1133 , requires agencies to post copies of all publications on the publicly accessible portal. DORIS is required to publish a notice in the GPP when an agency fails to submit a report within ten days of publication.

The GPP can be searched by keyword such as agency name, subject, title, report type, or date. A new feature allows users to conduct full text searches on the portal’s content. Use “ ” to bracket the exact search term. Search results can be further refined using filters, including relevance, date, or with just one letter of the alphabet.

The Municipal Library has been acquiring published materials about New York City government for more than one hundred years. In addition to the GPP, researchers are encouraged to search the Library catalog for books, serials, reports, and other hard-copy items in the collection.
