This report details the work of DCA's Capacity Building Initiative, which funded five nonprofit organizations to provide financial counseling to their clients who included formerly incarcerated adults, foster care youth, young adult interns, young fathers, and workforce development clients. Initial findings indicate that individuals in workforce development programs who received financial counseling achieved better outcomes than comparison group clients who did not receive financial counseling.

FOIL responses measure up, evaluating 18 agencies and awarding grades based on timeliness of response, requests left unanswered, and the ease of filing a request.
This is an audit of Neighborhood Youth and Family Services (NYFS) and its compliance with
contracts awarded by the New York City Administration for Children's Services (ACS) and the Department of Youth
and Community Development (DYCD). NYFS did not maintain adequate controls over the recording and reporting of program
expenses and did not maintain sufficient documentation to support expenses charged to its contracts. The City reimbursed
NYFS a total of $411,345. The report has several recommendations.
