The aim of this report is to provide an overview of the City's food policy work and provide current metrics on our programs. The aim of these programs is to promote access to healthy, nutritious food for all New Yorkers. The Department of Investigation released a calendar year-end report for 2012, detailing the investigations, financial recoveries and arrests of the City's anti-corruption agency. The Department closed out the year with 834 arrests and it reflects the agency's role in protecting taxpayer funds, strengthening City procedures and stopping corruption.
Based on IBO's tax and spending projections under the Mayor's November 2012 Financial Plan, the city faces a budget shortfall of $811 million in the upcoming fiscal year, a relatively modest
1.6 percent of out forecast for city-generated revenues. IBO's projected shortfall for the following year, fiscal year 2015, is $1.7 billion, 3.1 percent of expected city-generated revenues.
