Mayor Bill de Blasio was joined by Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services Dr. Herminia Palacio today to sign an executive order requiring City agencies to provide New Yorkers with information on health insurance options and encourage them to enroll in a plan.
New York City pharmacies – including supermarkets and big-box stores with a pharmacy section – are now prohibited from selling cigarettes and other tobacco products. The ban took effect on January 1 of this year.
