All licensees and registrants: New York City’s annual Summer Streets program will be held in each borough over the course of five Saturdays between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. each day, and temporarily close multiple streets and locations to all motor vehicles, including trade waste collection vehicles.
To all BIC trade waste broker registrants: On a bi-annual basis, you must submit to the Commission a customer register that includes all customers located in New York City. Customer data for January 1, 2023 through June 30, 2023 is due by July 31, 2023.
All BIC licensees must on a quarterly basis submit to the Commission a customer register that includes all customers located in New York City. Customer data for April 1, 2023 through June 30, 2023 is due by July 31, 2023.
What are we proposing? The New York City Business Integrity Commission (the “Commission”
or “BIC”) is proposing changes to Title 17 of the Rules of the City of New York to improve traffic
and vehicle safety within the trade waste industry.
BIC is alerting the industry to a phishing campaign designed to steal login credentials. The phishing emails mimic BIC emails, and reference an attached “secure document” from “ firstname.lastname@example.org”. These emails are NOT LEGITIMATE.
All licensees and registrants are hereby directed to complete waste collection in the affected areas before 12:00 p.m. on May 6, 2023. Furthermore, you are directed to remove your respective containers along the event route before 10:00 p.m. on May 5, 2023.
The New York City Business Integrity Commission (the “Commission”
or “BIC”) is proposing changes to Title 17 of the Rules of the City of New York to add new rules
to implement Section 1043(g) of the New York City Charter, which permits any person to petition
a city agency to consider adoption.
