Mayor de Blasio today announced the members of the Disconnected Youth Task Force following their first meeting, hosted on Friday by Deputy Mayor Phil Thompson. This task force will explore obstacles facing young people between the ages of 16-24, who are out of work and out of school.
In compliance with Local Law 141 passed by the New York City Council in 2016, ACS submits an annual report on government issued personal identification for youth in foster care to the Council.
DYCD in partnership with DHS launched a direct referral process to allow youth from DYCD-funded residential programs to more easily transition to the adult shelter system. Such practice was codified in Local Law 81 of 2018.

NYC Child Welfare Indicators Report: These reports, in compliance with Local Law 20 of 2006 passed by the New York City Council in 2006, includes data on 12 child welfare indicators, such as staff caseloads, investigations, and reunifications, for the most recent quarter and calendar year.
The report presents a summary of the activities/ recommendations of the IHAC. This report is accompanied by an annual breakdown of each member agency’s expenditures for housing and services to the homeless in the adopted budget. Representatives of multiple NYC agencies are members on the council.
